Most of the luxury collection hotels I have been to just seem like old buildings. Which carry a lot of downsides. The Excelsior had none of the downside. The room we stayed in could be updated. However the room was large and the bed was very comfortable. The noise isolation in the room was very good as well you don't hear other guest like I often do in other old buildings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We had a great time at the Excelsior and would definitely stay here again.
