It has only been one day since I left camp and I already can't wait to go back next year. I just finished my first summer at Camp Nakanawa and it was the best of my entire life. I was worried at first about being rejected because of my age and how much later I was coming to camp than the other girls, but they all spread their arms open wide and never hesitated to be as kind and caring as they would be if they had known me for a decade. The counselors all took me in and helped me adjust to camp life and they all did their best to help me thrive in everyday camp life. I was thrilled and honored to be willed a tie by an incredible friend and Valkyrie sister, and I promise to try to live up to her legendary camper status while wearing our tie with pride. Last night, trophy night, I was given the honor of recieving a Carson cross. This is a gift that I will treasure forever and I'm so thankful to the entire counselor staff for their kindness and I'm really glad that that they believe I'm worthy of such as valuable piece of camp history. I will wear it everyday to remind myself of the one-of-a-kind place that is Camp Nakanawa. As a message for anyone considering joining the Camp Nak family, do it. Jump in with both feet because there is an entire camp of wonderful women waiting to catch you and bring you in close. Thank for the best month I've ever had and I'll be sure to return for tent row next year.
