Came in to look at a specific truck priced at $23k...

Came in to look at a specific truck priced at $23k. Was told it was gone and while walking the lot to look at another truck we saw it on the lot. Then was told it was going to auction because the milage was too high for them to sell. After making it clear our budget was around $25k max they assured us they could get us into a new vehicle for about the same price. Came back with a $42k price. Not even close to what we were looking for. They kept trying to push and push us into a cheaper vehicle that was still way above what we were looking for. Asked them why I can t even look at the one we came in for. Was told because it was too high of mileage they would have to sell as is and that could cause their google reviews to be damaged if something went wrong. I did not care if its as is and do tons of my own maintenance anyway. Said well of you are auctioning it off why not let me put an offer in for less then the advertised price. They scoffed at the idea I would get it for less. You are not going to get $23k at an auction. Maybe $15 max. I was ready to easily pay $21k as is no questions asked. But they refused to even acknowledge that and kept pushing a new vehicle on us for insane amounts we did not want to spend just to save their Google reviews. They get a bad review just for wasting our time.
