Moved here in Year 8 after a long spat of bullying in my last school, didn't have a good experience here at all, most of the teachers were unsupportive, patronising and critical, and i'd even go as far to say discriminatory and ableist. I developed a range of mental health problems in my year 11 which stemmed from being abused by a fellow student here for over two and a half years, which i was actually blamed for by my head of year, and when my mental health began to deteriorate into crisis, i was told i was "attention seeking" and "making a fool out of myself". The 6th form was even more shocking, the majority of the staff in 6th form were completely unprofessional, I wasn't guided properly to help me into my chosen career choice, and in my last year, there wasn't a proper replacement in place when our psychology teacher was off sick, and when the other one was on maternity leave.
Only good experience I had was the head of pastoral care, Ms Jayne Beynon, who did her best to support me during my time there.
The bottom line is, if your son or daughter has special educated needs or a mental health problem, don't bother sending them here. Many other people i knew at school with similiar problems were treated the same way.
