My son attended preschool at Walsingham. That year...

My son attended preschool at Walsingham. That year, I was in graduate school, and we received a generous amount of financial aid. My son loved his teacher/s and his classmates. In the spring of his preschool year, we reapplied for financial aid (for the next year) and received roughly 5% of the amount we d received previously. I was still in graduate school, making it financially impossible for my son to attend the next year. It was hard to get a clear answer on why there was such a steep decrease in the amount we received. The general sentiment was, too bad, too sad. The lack of explanation was disappointing for several reasons, mostly because we felt we had become a part of the Walsingham family. Additionally, it seemed inconsistent with the Catholic faith for a school to treat its low-income families as disposable.

My recommendation is to consider only letting your children attend this school if your family does not need financial aid. If you need financial aid, as we did, you may find yourself with enough aid to afford one year and then not enough to have them return the next year. We could likely afford to send our children there now but have learned our lesson.
