Fantastic piece of history in Philly..i recently visited for the second time and was just as mesmerized as the first. Its incredible to see such an old, influential structure still standing, showing everyone who walks through the dark reality of what was, essentially a luxury prison in its time. I recommend going when it's a bit warmer as we just learned the hard way that those old stone walls leave the rooms colder than it is outside. Get entry with the Philadelphia city pass and save on admission..only need an hour or two to get through.
