As 2017 has set in with January at its end it's time to reflect back and look forward to my own behaviors. While others were making resolutions for 2017 I was reflecting back to where I was some 20 yrs ago and the ones I encountered thereafter whom have forever changed my life.

Namely Sister Gay for accepting me as her daughter and telling me there's a place for me here in Houston don't leave. She trusted me. Held my hand and prayed safety security purity and progression in my life. She gave me back my spirituality. She became my mom away from home and forever will she remain in my heart.

Secondly Barbara Moore whom I met at same time and became a big sister. A dedicated hardworking resident director who devotes so much to time, effort, and heartful work into the success of The Mission and its women. She always was there during my darkest moments and never once looked down but instead helped me to learn how to look up again. How to believe in myself. She has thought me what faithful dedication to a passion and love looks like which has been her work and service there.

Last but not least Pam Lockard. I met as a Mission Board member with absolute dedication to that place like known other. Worked tirelessly to help see The Mission thrive, the women thrive, Sister Gay and kids thrive and so many others. Whom I profoundly admire. A dedicated devoted hardworking strong women whom I aspire to be everyday. Her dedication to her own personal business her organizations and still The Mission surpassing what one can imagine. Not to mention also she gave me opportunity during my desperate time to work for her while trying to figure out what next for my life. I'm forever grateful to her and admire her immensely.

So first for me is to reflect back and be grateful then look forward to my own dedication to others that may be where I was. To make commitments to service projects and volunteering more.
