Frank Bonazza III Review of Lehighton Kia

My wife and I bought a 2015 Sportage from Lehighton Kia in October 2018. We paid top dollar for the car, and even opted for the extended warranty. About 3 1/2 months later we started hearing a banging/ clicking noise from behind the dashboard, so we brought the vehicle in to the shop there. Within 2 hours from the time we dropped it off, they called and said it was ready to pick up. We were told they had to replace an actuator. It s been 14 months and we are having the same problem again. I called and explained that we are having the same exact problem and noise coming from behind the dash, and the passenger window will not work when the switch on the passenger side is used but works from the driver switch. I was told by the service desk and the service manager that the part they replaced for the heater is only warranted for 12 months, and the extended warranty I paid plenty for doesn t cover the part. I was told the window problem could be a regulator or a switch or something else, and I would have to bring the car in and pay my deductible to have it diagnosed correctly. The service manager informed me the heater problem could be caused by something shoved in the actuator or something behind the dashboard??? They are the only people to work on the vehicle, so if that was possibly the case they would be the responsible party anyway... They have the power to make this problem right, but refuse to. I was also told at the time of purchase that we would receive free oil changes, but when I called to make an appointment for that they informed me they couldn t fit me in until almost a month later. I ended up doing my own oil changes because it is ridiculous to have to make an appointment 30 days in advance for one. Any other service shop on the planet will take you off the street with no appointment, as it only takes 25 minutes at most. I can do one myself in 30 minutes with zero access to a lift. This is the kind of service you will get from this dealership, and I have never in my 42 years been treated this poorly by a car dealership. I wish I never did business with them. They will promise you the world to get you to sign the dotted line, but immediately afterwards you will be treated like a third class customer. Buyer beware, and it says a lot that they don t back their parts and workmanship. This isn t a part that should go bad this many times, and the heat is not run for 6+ months out of the year. I ve had countless cars for 10+ years that never needed anything beyond brakes, oil changes and the occasional battery, yet my Kia is 5 years old and seems to be a giant lemon. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere, they will not take care of you after they get your hard earned money. If you do have to buy a car from them, don t buy the extended warranty. Save your money for repairs that won t be covered anyway...
