I had been looking for a martial arts academy that would help my son gain self-esteem and confidence. He has been the target of bullies from a very early age, and his shy personality only encouraged those unfortunate episodes at school. The previous academy he attended concentrated on making sure the kids learned the routines. Nothing wrong with that, but it did nothing to help my son apply what he was learning in a real world scenario. When I moved to Sunrise, and after visiting many martial arts academies in the area, I saw a huge difference in John Wai Kung Fu classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and caring individuals who make sure to teach the students not only about martial arts, but how to responsibly apply that knowledge in the real world. My son learned tools to stand up for himself when confronted by bullies at school the first week he attended John Wai Kung Fu Academy. I'm thrilled with his progress. His new skills are helping him concentrate at school. I'm happy to say that his grades have improved a lot. He enjoys his interaction with everybody at John Wai Kung Fu Academy so much that he is there at least 3 times a week, he arrives at least an hour early every time, and is even going there for summer camp. John Wai Kung Fu Academy was a great choice for my son.
