As someone who has not been to a public library in over four years I was extremely impressed to find how up to date everything in the St. Joseph County Public Library was. I walk in and it is HUGE. The first thing I noticed was an assembly line for returning books and a woman returning a camera at the front desk. I am not hooked on books so much anymore, so I was immediately drawn to their Sights and Sounds area which carries films, television series, audio books and to my surprise, CD s. My favorite part is the whole old-cinema hollywood style it has going on, and the lady at the desk there was extremely helpful at answering my questions as a new client. She even had a few recommendations for me and when I mentioned I had no idea libraries rented movies she let me know they had a Digital Media Lab where one can record, edit and publish their own creative content. My experience at this library exceeded my expectations as to what a library can provide for its patrons, I will definitely be coming back more often!
