We booked online for a family of five, a week before visiting for a birthday party. Booking was not as simple as it could have been, I had to search the website to find out how to book and it was more complicated than it should have been. We visited on a Saturday so thought best to book in advance and got a better price than on the day entry. After completing the booking you have the option to either print out physical tickets or use a QR code which is scanned upon entry. We opted for the QR codes because our printer was out of ink.
Saturday arrived and we planned to leave at around 11.30am allowing for city centre traffic to arrive for 12.15 and the start of the party. We stopped to get petrol and were forced to wait behind several cars before gaining access to the pump.
The petrol station also had a Greggs attached which meant people were buying food before paying for fuel and it took much too long to get served.
I left with two teas, some sausage rolls and a steak bake. I took the route suggested by the sat nav but there were some roadworks which had temporary traffic lights, the queue was long enough to delay us for fifteen minutes.
We arrived at 12.10 and found the multi storey car park with ease. We parked on rge first floor as close as possible to the lift but all the parent and child places were full. A short walk to the main entrance took us outside and we crossed the canal following the signs for the entrance.
We got there with a few minutes to spare and joined the queue to get in, we met up with a few other families also attending the party. After entering we made our way round the various attractions and had a packed lunch roughly halfway round.
The party was fun for the children, we all enjoyed the cake and were able to take a slice home.

Lots of parking. But not great value for money
