Dan Benoni Review of ONEWORLD retreats
Imagine waking up in the morning feeling refreshed...
Imagine waking up in the morning feeling refreshed.
A soft distant bell in lieu of your "wake up call."
You open the sliding door of your perfectly air-conditioned room, and you see a peaceful jungle slowly warming up with the soft morning sun.
On your private porch's table is a perfectly warm ginger tea, previously brought to you by the morning staff.
You walk 1min through a gorgeous resort and arrive at your yoga morning session, your mat and props are already installed, facing the luxuriant jungle.
Your yoga teacher gradually guides you through a great practice and you finish the session feeling energized, ready to tackle the day.
Your delicious, custom-made breakfast respecting your food allergies and specific needs is already awaiting you in the common dining room.
You exchange a few words with friendly people from all over the globe while finishing your meal.
After that comes a day of activities and exploration of Ubud (walks, bike, food etc.), always with your local guide. Your guide is not only friendly but also genuinely interested in sharing the rich history of Bali while learning more about your own culture.
I'll stop here, but you can easily imagine the rest.
All I can say is that this One World Kumara Retreat was simply incredible.
Also, note three important things:
- I'm a 6'3'' male weighing 220+lbs and I'm not the most flexible person in the world
- I don't consider myself a very "spiritual" person, my girlfriend found out about this retreat, the reviews looked great so I just said "yolo" and we booked it
- I'm an entrepreneur and a designer who's extremely detail-oriented. That means that I'm very critical of pretty much any service or product that I pay for.
Even with those specific traits, from the onboarding to the very end, I've rarely seen an experience so carefully crafted in my whole life:
- The staff was amazing;
- the activities were very well organized;
- the resort and the rooms were great;
- the yoga teacher was great and she adapted to everyone;
- even the participants were incredibly kind.
I understood why this retreat was so great by talking to the owner (Claude). He's not only a great human being but also one of the most detail-oriented individuals I've met in my life. He really cares for the quality of the services provided to clients and it's obvious.
Honestly, it would be hard for me to criticize anything from this retreat.
I highly recommend it.
My expectations and needs arriving there were to relax, unplug and take a quick break from a stressful lifestyle. I can say "mission accomplished 100%".
With that said, if you arrive there hoping to party day and night and get lit, this is probably not the retreat for you. But if you want to unwind, take care of your body and your mind for a week: you can close your other browser tabs and stop the comparisons and research... you've found your new home in Ubub at One World Kumara.
Enjoy :)
