Today I had to visit the ER at Corona Regional Medical Center. I was seen very quickly by the doctor, who ordered a test to confirm his diagnosis.
I want to give my doctor and Ultrasound technician, LaVelle, 5 stars. They were both amazing and had great bedside manor.
The reason for 3 stars is due to the fact that after I had my ultrasound, I was told to go sit in the waiting room with all the other patients.
I had just had a major surgery, with a wound that is still healing.
I asked one of the nurses if I could sit somewhere, where I would not be exposed to all the people in the waiting room that were coughing and sneezing.
She had me sit in a common area in the back by the nurses station, with more sick people just standing around me.
There were many empty rooms with beds that would have allowed me to rest comfortably with out having to be exposed to sick people with my wound that was still healing.
Why have all of these rooms if no one is allowed to use them? I m not sure if this is a normal practice or if the staff that was on duty decided it was best to have several sick people just sitting and standing around each other.
Hopefully me or any of my family members ever have to visit an ER again. If we do, it will not be at Corona Regional Medical Center.
