Only 30-40 minutes from south lake Tahoe but usually receives a good deal more snow and earlier. One of my favorite snowboarding destinations in the area and also where I proposed to my wife. Lots of great runs and in my opinion the best beginner run ever. The snowkirk is very long for a beginner run giving someone plenty of time to practice and is gentle enough that quick turns are rarely demanded which is great if you are uncomfortable with switching edges on a snowboard. Not where I learned to snowboard but definitely where I first started to become comfortable on one.
