$5000 down the drain - garbage WIG!

I am writing this review to share my experience with Tammy Lobato Wigs in the hope that it helps others make informed decisions — especially those living with hair loss who are already vulnerable and simply looking for a dignified solution.

I paid $5,000 upfront for a bonded wig after being assured that it would be breathable, secure, and of high quality — suitable for my upcoming trip to Europe where I’ll be seeing family I haven’t seen in years. Unfortunately, what I received was the opposite: poor quality hair, cheap materials, and a style that was so unflattering I was left in tears the moment I got home.

I raised concerns immediately, but rather than being heard or supported, I was dismissed. I made several phone calls to the salon, and when I finally spoke to Tammy, she accused me of changing my mind and made no effort to acknowledge the product issues or how I was feeling. There was no apology, no care, and no accountability — just a refusal to listen and a refusal to refund unless I posted the wig back first, which I’ve been advised is not safe or reasonable under consumer law.

On the day I received the wig, I had to spend $420 out of pocket to have it professionally restyled — just to make it wearable. I am now pursuing a refund through the ACCC and am prepared to escalate this further to ensure not only that I am refunded, but that others are protected from going through the same.

This has been an emotionally draining ordeal. What was meant to be an empowering, confidence-boosting experience has left me without a wearable wig and no resolution, just weeks before I travel overseas.

I trusted this business with something deeply personal. That trust has been broken.
