This resort is really awesome with a gigantic pool and all the rooms are small apartments (I think it was formally an apartment complex made into a hotel). Everything was clean and the location is perfect for guests going to the theme parks. I docked this by two stars because they do try to sell you on stuff and it s really off-putting. I arrived to check in, got my keys and they told me to go over to another desk to get a parking pass. The person giving the parking pass is then trying to tell me that there s a complimentary breakfast for rewards members. I was like ok cool, thinking this is just standard. Then he starts saying there s a presentation etc and it s 90 mins and he needs to know my martial status and income. I m getting confused and I realized he s trying to put me in a time share-like presentation for their Vacation club. I was so uncomfortable and felt awkward that I was being sold to upon my hotel arrival. I never went to the breakfast because it just rubbed me the wrong way. Then at check out, they said I get a free gift. I m like ok... and they send me across to another desk. I knew this was gonna be another stunt on their end. Sure enough, I see the guy in front of me is getting a lecture and has to fill out info etc. Clearly another bait and switch trick. So I just left and didn t claim the free gift. I ve never been to a hotel that did that. Definitely put a sour note on the stay. On a last note, they put a an extra 25-30% holding fee on your card but they didn t mention it. I saw it on my mobile banking and call them about it and that s how I found out. Again, felt like they were looking for ways to sneak more cash out of you. Make sure you ask about the holding fee at check out so they give it back to you.
