Their tire ripped apart my car. When I contacted them about taking responsibility for the repair, I practically had to do as much paperwork as if I were applying for a Ph.D. program. One of the documents that they required was the invoice from my purchase of new tires. The fact that I bought Michelin probably affected their decision.. However, I complied and supplied them with every document and every photo for which they asked. I also had to mail the tire back to them. They replied with a letter basically saying that it was my fault that their tire ripped up my car! What was my fault is that I did not return this poor product a month or so after purchasing them because these tires just never held air properly. I checked the air monthly, and the air is checked every time I have an oil change and rotation. The air was frequently low. The second factor is that they said that there was A hole in the tire repaired by patch-only - no fill material. I surely did not make that repair! The people at Allied discount tires, from whom I bought the tire, repaired this hole. I trusted that their authorized dealer would repair it correctly. So, for those two reasons, I m stuck with the repair of over $2000, or continuing to drive around with my car held together by tape. I will be back in touch with Yokohama this week to plead that they reconsider their decision as I did my part to take the best care of these tires. The new ones cost a pretty penny, so I cannot afford this repair. I hope that they will make this good. If Yokohama is the reputable company that they claim to be, they will step up and do the right thing. I will certainly be back online to update this rating if they do take responsibility for their faulty product.

Update on 10/21/19 Yokohama sent me a truly ridiculous reply to my contestation of them refusing ALL liability. They are so well set in the fine print when buying their terrible product that I can t see how they ever accept liability when their poorly-made tires fly apart, putting the lives of the driver at risk. Check your tired every time you enter your car. Check your tire pressure EVERY WEEK. Who can do this? Should the product really require this? My new Michelin tires have not lost a pound of air since July! These tires should have been out of of service a long time ago. They are 65,000 tires, and I had 65,500 when it flew apart. I rotated them, did everything that is reasonable. I cannot afford to sue them, so this is all that I can do.

THIS IS NOT A SAFE PRODUCT AND YOKOHAMA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT WHEN IT FAILS! Best to all.
