Daughters attended a two week session. Upon picking them up, one said she was sick and had felt bad since the first Tuesday of camp. And this was a TWO week camp. Upon returning home, pediatrician said she was Strep positive and had been so for about 12 days. When her symptoms first started, she went to the nurse's cabin and was given Tylenol and popsicles. She was never seen by a physician. Apparently, in my other daughter's cabin a girl was treated for Strep. The nurses should have know that if one child had Strep that other cases were highly likely. A round of antibiotics would have made my daughter feel better in a few days, but she suffered with Strep the entire time at Nakanawa. This is lazy and negligent behavior by the nurses, counselors and staff. Unacceptable. I cannot recommend this camp.
