When calling my friend. The caller stated something incoherent and was wanting privileged information that my friend had felt uneasy in giving out. Due to having had dealt with identity theft, recently. Instead of identifying themselves, they( she) the company-- had contacted her cel phone( for about 17 seconds). NOT BOTHERING TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES. It is a relatively new number. She has been ill and was unable to grasp the call or the nature of the call and was completely unable to address the CSR in question. Then I called them directly back( via my phone) to find out what the call was in reference to- the CSR was blatantly avoiding giving me her name. And instead was adamantly asking me if I were she who had just been called. AND was prompt in asking me if I was my friend ( a female name) ON AN UNRELATED PHONE NUMBER. Then she ( the CSR ) got belligerent with me and started to tell me they were online - google them. So, I did. Then I called the San Jose number and got a male voice who routed the call to that woman - who still never gave me or my friend her number- OR would not connect me with a supervisor. BUT the kicker was when that CRS asked me for my friend's name. What constitutes "sensitive information " when on phone - as opposed to being online, I am curious? The purpose of the call was still never let known to the woman. BUT we did get was the name of the woman( HERSHEY).. manager and her direct line... And it made us wonder - They said that they spoke with her ( my friend) before( in 2013) Still don't know what the company does or handles- I mean, you get that with Smith Barney and any other major company RIGHT? Now, why they can't or won't follow through in snail mail on what ever the heck it is is beyond me.
