I purchased a small house that had been smoked in for nearly a decade, so I had them do a complete paint job ceiling, walls & trim, and kitchen cabinets, and I would not recommend them. The house was vacant, and all flooring was removed. The sales representative was friendly and provided a lot of information stressing the quality of their work and their excellent customer service, which led me to choose them over other companies that provided similarly priced quotes.
I experienced poor communication once the job started; however, I did receive a call on the third day because they could not figure out one of the colors I requested. It was unclear why they had not addressed this earlier they require paint colors be submitted a week before the job starts, and they had already been on the job for two days. I did not appreciate having a last minute crisis in the middle of a busy workday. The project was scheduled to take five days, but the office called later that third day requesting final payment because the job was complete, which the project manager had not communicated to me.
The work was unacceptable. The ceiling was painted, but they did not patch the tape pop or caulk the holes where hooks had previously been, as detailed in the quote. They painted the cabinet doors and drawer faces directly on the slab floor leaving large clumps of dried paint, and it does not appear that they sanded the cabinets at all before or between paint layers as promised. The cabinet doors were re-attached incorrectly and would not close. Globs of putty were left dried on the floor from when they patched parts of the wall. In the master bathroom they removed the toilet from its caulking (I guess to try and paint behind it?). and there was water pooled on the floor because the toilet ring seal had been broken from the movement. The folding laundry room doors were off their tracks, and they forgot to paint the back of them. They laid those doors against the freshly painted wall resulting in peeling and chipping. There were drips on some of the door trim pieces and over-spray paint on mirrors, windows, and ceiling fan blades. They also left a closet light covered with plastic wrap and in general did not clean up trash, tape, etc. left around the house.
They came back to fix the issues, but the fan blades still had paint over-spray, the slab floor was still covered in paint, obviously the toilet situation was an issue, and the tape pop was not properly repaired as it came back in less than a week. When the office called again for final payment, I told them I was still not happy with the end result. They said they could have a different crew come out, but at that point I was not willing to take any more time off work to deal with it. I could fix the remaining issues myself or have my plumber and contractor fix properly. I would have appreciated at least a small discount to make up for the extra costs of the plumber and contractor resulting from their poor work. I expected much better from a professional company that stresses their quality and service.
