Review of Barnsley Resort

I didn't actually spend the night here! I like to shoot out of Metro Atlanta and explore places with my camera that have caught my attention before. With the sign Barnsley Gardens on the I-75, I decided to visit what I thought was a botanical garden. Actually it is now Barnsley Resort, a beautiful, pristine, quiet, welcoming resort about 2 hours from the center of A town.

Here's what I found. The security agent gate was welcoming when I asked to the explore the place. That was good! Also, one of the Inn's front desk agent, Allison, I believe, was very helpful stepping outside of the Inn for a second to point me to some places of interest. I really like that.

Here's what I observed!
1. They have a row of cottages (I think they call them cabins) that looked very nice and very well kept, that radiate from the inn.
2. Further down I found a nice lake with people fishing and small farm area with goats, a mule and I believe, a llama.
3. There was of course, a golf course, although hitting a ball through the air to find some tiny hole over a hill, beyond which I can see, has never grasped my interest. But it looked good!
4. The have good Covid practices in place, requiring the wearing of face protection.

My favorite thing what that they had 'fire pits' in front of the various cottages so guest could sit outside and mingle. I thought that was so cool!

They have the Barnsley House ruins building. That was a little creepy to walk around. But behind it they had a very large covered patio with astro type turf, which would be 'perfect' for a wedding or some event and still allow social distancing.

The property is big and I only explored a little bit of it. But I can say this appears to be a nice escape spot from the cities of Chattanooga, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville and Charleston!

This is a place that I plan to put on my 'stay the night' list, when and if things settle down with the Covid situation. As a former airline employee, I know the impact that this crazy uncontrolled mess is having on the lodging industry. I think this place ready and set to come back very strongly!

Here are few photos I took while on the property!
