We recently visited the Torbay area with our Caravan driving down form County Durham, as we tow we use a large 4X4 and during our stay we were given 2 parking tickets as the bays were not long enough for us, we were within the width but unfortunately the bumpers were not within the length, in Brixham we specifically waited for a bay (30 minutes) where we would not cause any inconvenience or an obstruction but sadly we still got parking tickets. We were supposed to be there for 2 weeks but this happened very early in our stay so we decided to leave and head to a different area as we felt we would be unable to visit places we wanted too due to our vehicle size and could not afford to get more tickets. This is really sad as both myself and my wife had been looking forward to visiting the area that we spent out childhood holidays but the problems gave use such a bad impression that we thought it best to leave. I know the council will not read this but if it helps someone else then that's good. We did appeal the tickets but the appeals were declined. We wont be back to this area again.
