I was looking to purchase a home in Suffern, NY recently. I had my own agent from a different agency but the seller s agent is from Terrie O Connor. I have experience buying and selling homes for the past 15 yrs. I ve been through the process 4 times and I have never had an experience like this. The sellers agent is a flat out liar. She insisted that the home I was looking at was 3,700 square feet. I shared the measurements I had from a flooring company that proved it was no more than 2,000 square feet. She said that since that s what s in the towns records they are legally obligated to use those numbers. What!!? The towns numbers are rarely correct. What law requires this?

Also, she listed it as a 4 bedroom home when one of the bedrooms has no clothes closet and is less than 100 sq ft. Shouldn t this be classified as an office? Again, when I confronted her on this she insisted she had to list it as a four bedroom because that s what the town s records show. I even had friends call this woman to ask similar questions and caught her in multiple lies over and over again. Such unethical behavior. For someone with so many years of experience in real estate as she claimed she has, this is how you operate? Lie, cheat and steal just to get the deal closed. I wonder if there are any other agents that can t tell a less than 2000 square foot house from a 3700 square foot house just by looking at it. I know I can. And my inspector noticed it immediately upon pulling up to the house.

Then she lied about the kitchen being updated. She said the kitchen was recently updated with brand new appliances. When in fact the appliances were a good 5-10 years old and the only thing that was replaced in the kitchen were the countertops. The cabinets are old and in fair condition at best. Is this agent for real? Anyone can clearly see that the kitchen is outdated and needs updating. You can even see that from the pictures online!

Regardless of all this, the deal fell through so now I am looking at homes in Bergen county. Needless to say, this agent is not representing me and unfortunately for Terrie O Connor realty, she is still representing them.
