The surgeons at this hospital are very good, but the general aim is to get the patients out after surgery as soon as possible without any interest in how they will recover. My husband was given no aftercare advice or any of the equipment he needed to use at home, or even support as to where or how to find it. No advice was available on the telephone either, and as a result of this lack of care my husband became extremely ill with a post-operative infection. He had to be taken by ambulance to another hospital (at great expense to the NHS no doubt, negating the saving of discharging him too early) where luckily they took better care of him. Also the outpatient staff who answer the telephones can be rude, aggressive and intimidating - quite frightening when you are unwell.
