This review is not about Abbott Construction as a company, but rather the Human Resources department. I understand it is hard for people to even comprehend as it looks like a well put together department from the outside, but it is not. It is also hard to vent to others as our work is confidential. My experience from Abbott as a whole was wonderful, the people in the office and field are amazing there.
Human Resources management will push you out the door and make every day miserable until you quit.
The amount of stress in the department is overwhelming, to the point where it causes anxiety and loss of sleep due to the constant nit picking from management. There are a lot of inconsistencies where it s ok only when management does it but not the rest of the department. They will contact you outside of your working hours via text/email/phone call on things that can wait until the next day.
Management should seek a leadership training in order to learn how to motivate and up build the team and its morale, rather than tearing them down when they make a mistake. Honesty also lacks from them when it comes to having open conversations about what we should improve on. They can t possibly coach other managers on how to manage their employees when even they can t perform that for their own department.
