Paul Vandendaele, a '' debt collection inspector '...

Paul Vandendaele, a '' debt collection inspector '' from Intrum came to our old address where we have not lived for 10 years. He leaves a card with a message that we have to pay an amount of ... euros as soon as possible .. The new residents had quickly delivered that card to us. I call the number that was mentioned there, and I ended up with Paul Vandendaele. I asked what this was, as there was almost nothing of info on the card, just an amount supposedly to be paid and the name of intrum & original creditor. This RUDE inspector does not even have the right to visit people's homes to demand payment !! So it turned out to be a debt of more than 9 years ago that we have been paying off for 8 years with another bailiff, who has already been paid almost in full !!! When I said I was going to discuss this with my lawyer he just slammed the phone and I couldn't reach him anymore! This is an attempt at scam !! Intrum is not a bailiff, you cannot just demand payment on the spot at people's doors! And certainly not with a ridiculous red card with almost no info on it. In the meantime, I have also filed a complaint with Meldpunt and Consumer Ombuds Service and also mentioned Paul's name.
People never just pay a collection agency !! And don't fall for this !! These collection agencies buy over very old debts, first check that your debts are not time-barred!
