I had really high hopes for this one. First thing I noticed when I walked in was great atmosphere and a terrible smell that lingered in my nostrils the entire meal. We had some fried soft shell crab "appetizer" that really just turned out to be a salad. I had a chicken parmesan which is a dish so simple that it's actually difficult to mess up. Pasta was over cooked, sauce was bland, and the chicken was breaded and cooked to hell. My companion had a scallop and rice dish. The scallops were beautifully cooked and seasoned but at 5 bucks a scallop it better have been cooked with gods cum. 4 scallops and a full plate of lunchroom rice complete with peas and square carrots made this dish a total disappointment. The owner seemed very nice and extremely full of himself. and I hope that he will go back to restoring a standard of quality which made his restaurant so popular in the first place. That or the people of Hartford have terrible taste in Italian cuisine.
