I WRITE AT LENGTH FOR A REASON. I have been to Sierra Tucson seven times. Each visit for different time periods, and each involving life-long, alcohol abuse and later mood and emotional stabilization, "retraining" and renewed focus. SEVEN TIMES - FAILURE OR SUCCESS? The fact is that neither of those extremes can be measured in writing, no matter how poetic the writer might be. These extremes can only be described by action and result - different for everyone on that continuum.
I have heard plenty of negatives during all of my time at ST - mostly while on campus - about ST policies, insurance, not enough sugar-free beverages or coffee, etc. These negatives exist. I find them largely external to actual people and ST treatment, and seem closer to subjective reactions to a system that also happens to exist at ST, as so many systems surround all of our lives, managed by mere human beings. Those are facts.
More facts are, that I am alive, though at previous times, quite literally, near dead. My family, though separated, remains living, growing, with healthy, onward changing and adapting, sometimes difficult and frustrating, but so many more as wonderful. I tried other programs, but it was not until experiencing the ST program that my changes were made possible - the whole program. So I ask once more - SEVEN TIMES - HERE AND BACK AGAIN - FAILURE OR SUCCESS?
Let the fact that I HAVE returned SEVEN times, be MY simple testimony to the ST program. That number, and this message, say it all for me. Please consider the changes in my life, when you read this, and then consider the possibilities for your own. My love, wishes and hope.
