My husband was experiencing acute back pain while working in the area so went to this place because it was the closest walk-in clinic. What a mistake! Dr pointed out noticeable swelling and gave pain and muscle relaxer and ordered an x-ray and after calling them for results said that he had degenerative disc disease and schmorls nodes. She recommended physical therapy and said would send referral to orthopedic specialist. The diagnose seemed off because of the level of acute pain. We Wondered why DR didn't prescribe a steroid and thought physical therapy would just aggravate his back but went anyway. The physical therapist said they couldn't do much with his condition and the medication was not helping much. After three days with no improvement and no sign of hearing from a specialist... We decided to get a second opinion. Which was completely different. New medication was prescribed and things began to slightly improve. Until yesterday when his leg went numb and almost had to make a visit to the ER when a doctor friend of ours called and ordered an MRI and prescribed a steroid because they believed it was a slipped disc! So after the cost of two dr visits... Two rounds of different medications and a week of missed work now we may get some answers! I guess that is why they call it practicing medicine, because they are all just practicing while we all pay exorbitant medical costs!!!! I wonder how my boss would feel if I got things wrong as much as doctors do! Very sad state of affairs. Dr riviera should have recognized the acute and serious nature of this condition and got another opinion if she didn't know! Not recommending a specialist that we still haven't heard from!!!
