For a five star hotel a bit disappointing

For a five star hotel a bit disappointing

Pros: gorgeous beach and friendly staff. Expansive and safe beach with lots of chairs and umbrellas. Great snorkeling.

Cons: lots of families with whiny kids. Only one small pool with kids age infant to four. Lots of yelling and crying. The Mauna Kea needs an adult pool with food and drinks with poolside service. Rooms and amenities a bit tattered. Spa not so appealing. Very dungeon like feel with not many services available. Food should be five star, commensurate with the prices.

Overall good. Beach and location marvelous. Offerings of hotel including food and spa need a lot of thought and work.
