Kristen Walden Review of Sun Toyota

My husband Charles has in the past purchased two brand new Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks, a 2007 Pre runner and a 2009 Pre runner off the sales floor at this same particular Sun Toyota location in Holiday several years ago. This is my first personal experience myself so far with them. Eight months ago we purchased a certified pre-owned used 2012 Toyota Camry. Because I am disabled it is imperative that I have dependable and trustworthy transportation which is why we decided to buy the Camry and because it was a certified pre- owned used vehicle that we were told had been fully inspected and had passed all the tests and inspections that are required to make it a certified pre-owned used vehicle at Sun Toyota. That fact alone was a big selling point to us anyways in our making this purchase. It was only three years old at the time my husband Charles and I bought it. We were encouraged to purchased the extended bumper to bumper full coverage which we did. Carlos assisted us throughout the entire process of purchasing the car and he was extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable the entire time we were there. Carlos even personally drove to our own house to pick up the car that we were trading in which I felt was extremely thoughtful on his part as we had originally come together in one vehicle leaving that car at home. We paid slightly more than what the car was actually worth but we also took into consideration the fact that it had low mileage and was in very good condition on the outside but the interior seating was badly stained both front and rear which we were assured by Carlos that the car would be detailed before we took it home however that somehow never happened??? Oh well. We were also told that the nearly empty gas tank would be completely filled when we bought the car which we believed since all the other dealerships we have purchased a car from have always done this even with a used car as a courtesy. Why wouldn't we believe this especially coming from Sun Toyota who we thought to be a reputable dealership. I ended up filling that nearly empty gas tank myself. Thanks again Sun Toyota. Carlos pointed out to us several times that all four tires were brand new which was part of it passing the specs that qualified it as a certified pre-owned vehicle. Yes the tires were all four brand new indeed and somehow in the shuffle of signing piles of paperwork we, (our fault) stupidly overlooked the fact that we paid 500 dollars out of our own pocket for those brand new tires which we were never informed of that fact while we were on the car lot when Carlos was trying to sell us the car. When Carlos emailed me the next day to see how we were doing with the Camry I emailed him back and mentioned those darn tires. Because of Sun Toyota's complete lack of concern over a lousy 500 dollar set of tires and a thirty dollar tank of gas, my husband and I have already decided that we will both be looking elsewhere for our future vehicle purchases. We will, after our multiple negative experiences with Sun Toyota, never recommend them to our friends and family. I never received a return email about it from anyone at Toyota. I called and left a message on Carlos's answering machine a phone call which was never returned to this day. Oh well. Thanks again Sun Toyota for that too. Remember it's the little things in life that count, not the big ones.
