I sent a very rare reed valve converted, H2 750 cylinder to Millenium Technologies for a cracked fin repair and Nikasil plating repair service. I contacted Millenium a week after the cylinder had been sent to check the status (I paid extra for priority service, advertised as 3 day). The representative Rodney Heaton told me that unfortunately my cylinder had failed the QC process and would have to be re-plated and re-honed (although my account had already been charged without my knowing). When Millenium finally shipped the cylinder back to me (1 day before my race), it was completely destroyed. It appeared as if the aluminum casting and iron liner had been dissolved in some sort of acid or chemical bath. There was actually a hole eaten through the intake port, thru to the mounting stud. All of the gasket surfaces were destroyed and there were large flakes of loose plating material in the transfer ports, and the sleeve was separated from the casting. I again spoke with Rodney Heaton and he told me that the cylinder was sent to me in this condition because the powder coat that they removed had exposed the natural porosity of the aluminum. The funny thing is that the cylinder was neither painted or powder coated, or coated with anything, it was bare clean aluminum prior to shipment to Millenium. Millenium has not refunded my money, and the manager Raleigh Wood screens his calls and will not answer mine or respond to the voice mails I have left for him. Raleigh Wood will try to convince you that Millenium is a company that stands behind their products and services, but it is all politician like propaganda to keep money flowing into their pockets. I am here to tell you that there are some very dishonest people working there and they have absolutely put me in a very bad spot with my racing program. I would HIGHLY advise you to do some research about Millenium's recent quality issues before deciding to send something to them (particularly if it is rare and hard to replace). There are other very capable companies offering the same services with better customer feedback such as US Chrome and Powerseal USA. Please look into it for yourself, dis-satisfied Millenium customers are speaking up to protect you. In the photos, I have included a normal cylinder from the set so you can see the extent of damage from the chemical erosion or electrolysis.
