My oldest two kids (10 and 9 respectively), their grandmother, and I attended a children's performance of the Norse Myths at the Perseverance Theatre. I purchased our tickets online, which streamlined our check-in and seating. The performance was held within the first door to our left as we entered the building. Having never gone to the Perseverance Theatre before we weren't sure what to expect. The seating was done in a semi-circle of wooden bench like structures and the main stage was the floor in front of us. (Tip: Be on time or you may end up sitting on the floor/periphery of the stage itself)! The performance was really good. The sound effects and lighting done to perfection in regards to timing and volume. My 10 year old son left saying, with exuberance, "Best play ever!" (Of course, it helped that I had just finished reading the Usborne Illustrated Book of Norse Mythology, to my 10 and 9 year olds, prior to seeing the play; the play brought the Myths to life) I gave the Perseverance Theatre a rating of 4 out of 5 stars simply because the building, both inside and out, felt (and looked) tired to me. Also, as we pulled up to the event, parking wasn't clearly marked and was cause for pause as we had to decide where best to park in hopes of not being ticketed nor having to walk too far. Over-all, a solid, good first play to have experienced at the Perseverance Theatre. Looking forward to attending another play, on another day, that allows for more of the building to be seen and explored.
