I had a great experience with the staff.
However, I had patients violate my privacy and was also teased by other patients. It s hard to recover in an environment like this.

I decided to leave as soon as I could as I was there involuntarily.

The resources were amazing, the only thing that made this a hard experience were the patients.

After bringing up my issues they were brought up in community meetings which made me feel heard but the environment didn t seem to change much. I know the staff only has a certain amount of control over that so it s not really an issue with Bournewood, maybe the control they have over patients? More surveillance on conversations to make sure others aren t being teased. Being bullied can be very triggering for some and bring a halt to recovery, self-healing journey for some.
