Went on one of the best snow days of the year with the whole family. After spending about $900 on lift tickets and ski rentals, got to top of first run and Squaw shuts down 99% of the lifts claiming too windy.

It was a little windy, but after an hour it was blue skies and they still kept all lifts closed except for one or two and lift lines were 45 minutes. A friend called me from top of a run he hiked up to (because lifts were closed) and said it wasn't windy at all. They kept only 2 lifts open the rest of the day and the crowds/lines were unbearable.

The previous day we didn't go because we watched the online lift reports and saw the same thing happened. It was windy that day, but not bad. The day we went it was nice but still they kept lifts closed.

No refunds were given either day. After spending $500 for cabin, $900 for skis, and gas to drive up I won't be going back there again.

I've been told by long time Squaw locals that the management isn't running their finances well and that this was likely a cost cutting attempt to avoid having to pay lift ops and electricity. They won't be renewing their season passes next year.
