Formerly stored my boat at Chester Point for a few...

Formerly stored my boat at Chester Point for a few years within a Quonset hut storage buildings. 45' Sedan Bridge. On, February 22, 2015, the roof collapsed due to snow load and some rain which had fallen on top of that the evening before. It was a snowy winter that year and management did not take the time to remove as most were doing in our area at that time. The collapse was a direct result of their negligence and failure to address an obvious hazard which had much media coverage during the same period. My boat along with several others were significantly damaged. My bridge was completely flattened. I let the yard deal with repairs as I felt they and Marina owner would "make things right." Yard people were nice enough but the Marina owner never made things right. After much delay, my boat was eventually repaired and returned to me, on July 18, 2015. I loss use of the boat for 3 months. The total cost of the insurance claim my carrier paid was $92,000. Add to that the slip fees and other expenses I carried for the period of time I loss use, the total exposure was a bit over $100,000. Most said, well it was their fault so their insurance covered right? WRONG! I had to file a claim with my carrier (AIG) for the repairs, minus a several thousand dollar deductible. Up to that date I had never filed an insurance claim for any boat. Despite this, AIG dropped me and I had to shop for another policy. I could not believe it. It was not my fault yet I had to suffer the many consequences. I'm not a litigious person and always believe in taking the high road. I reasoned that as this was a catastrophic type loss the Marina owner would step up and at least try to make amends through some gesture of goodwill. Perhaps pay my deductible or provide some free services or future storage to compensate me for the massive aggravation factor and financial expense my wife and I endured during this period. This never happened. I was recently advised I would not receive reimbursement of my deductible from the subrogation process AIG had initiated. No reason was provided and I was instructed to retain counsel to go after the marina. Therein lies the reason for this feedback, some three years later. Let this be a lesson for anyone storing or dealing with Chest Point. If something happens do to their negligence you are on your own. Do not expect them to do "the right" thing. Maybe someone will learn from my misfortune.

Only reason I gave 1 star is that I am unable to post without choosing at least 1.
