I have lived in a Young America Apartment for 2 years now on the east side of Bloomington. It doesn't seem that they really care for their apartments, or to deal with any issues the people renting their apartments are causing. They don't enforce the rules regarding dogs crapping in the lawns. People constantly don't pick up after their dogs and the lawns just become a landmine field.

They also refuse to deal with noisy neighbors when you ask them to talk to them. Even when you have specific complaints about non-music things like poundng on the floors at all hours of the night, running around and people jumping off beds when they live on upper floors of apartments. This is even though they have provisions in their leases regarding "LESSEE agrees not to perform or permit any practice, which may cause a nuisance to the LESSOR or any of the other residents." The only response I ever get from them is that there isn't anything they can do about and and recommend you talk to the neighbor. That's what I pay you for!

Oh yah, final part. I asked to be placed on the list for a garage space and was told that I was. Yet, there are people who moved into my building more than a year after I did and they somehow got a spot before me. Go figure. I guess I wasn't on the list was I?

Do yourself a favor and don't bother with Young America. Find someone else in town to rent a place from if you can.
