Bree Smith Review of Tru Form Construction
Have never had any construction work done by this ...
Have never had any construction work done by this company, but did live in rental property they own on anamosa ave. I m not the type of person to complain publicly, but I feel that rapid city needs to know what kind of people are running Tru form construction. The property is nice at first glance, but very cheaply remodeled. Things were falling apart after a week of moving in. When the rain fell, I came home to a huge puddle of water on the floor in my kitchen, due to poor landscaping/cement on the back patio. It continued to do this all winter long when the snow would melt.
The front door lock was keyless entry, it stopped working and I was told the only way I could get the battery replaced was if I paid them 50$ in cash.
After living there for over a year, I gave a written 30 day notice to move and it was dated for move out on December 10th. I was told on December 4th I would be responsible for all the rent of December if I moved out on the 10th. Even though I had given a written 30 day notice! I was then served an eviction notice on Dec 6th. I had a roommate that had moved out the end of nov. I could not afford the apartment on my own. I was faced with eviction or paying 2x what I had been paying for a year. Rent was 950$ and I was charged the 50$ late fee since that goes into effect on the 5th of each month( even though I wasn t told until dec 4th that I was responsible for the whole months rent and couldn t move until Jan 1st) They Claimed it was because I was renting month to month. I looked over my lease and it was not ever disclosed in there. Luckily my little boy was only two and didn t mind the couple dollar store toys I was able to affordfor him for Christmas.
After all of this, I hired a cleaning crew by trade, since I was in a financial bind (cleaning my apartment for free hair cuts color, nails and pedis) which was 175$ in traded services. They cleaned for 7 hours (the place looked great). I was given until dec 31st at 3pm to have the place done since they had a new renter moving in on the 1st. Tru form construction showed up at 2 and walked all over the freshly mopped floors and started cleaning behind my cleaning crew. We had an hour left and one room to finish up. While cleaning I heard talk from their cleaning crew of dates that evening since it was New Year s Eve. I left the apartment so nice and clean and there was one hole in the wall I was expecting to pay for from my 950$ deposit. A few weeks passed and I was given 58$ back from my 950$ deposit. I looked over the invoice and I was billed 807$ for cleaning. They billed me for 20 hours of cleaning. Which means they were there cleaning on dec 31st through the night and into the 1st of Jan. I was charged 85$ for a reapair to the fridge water dispenser, but never charged for patching the hole in the wall from the children throwing a toy. Needless to say they may be a good construction company, but are lacking the qualities I would look for when deciding which construction company to do business with.
