Second and final update -

Unfortunately, it wasn't satisfactory until the end. When leaving, it was not interested in which defects were addressed or that the hygiene measures were not effective. Original sound from the staff: "I can't help it!"

Thanks for talking to us, never again Kempinski Dresden. Will advise everyone against this house!

Dear Mr. Schwass,
Thank you for your response. I also like to take the few minutes to answer them.

Your revolving door at the entrance can only be opened with muscle power, at least in the evening, it is really not inviting. And whether it is disinfected there every hour or any other time, I just have to believe you. The ballpoint pen story, whether it is necessary or not, when a pen is handed to me from your employees, nobody cares whether it will be disinfected later at some point. Either you do it sensibly or you don't.
Your comment on your homepage on the subject of "white gloves" suggests more.
Just ask your colleague
Eike Clausen in Aqaba. Even before the Covid-19 era, people there understood how to capitalize on hygiene.
Even without a hygiene concept from the Free State of Saxony, you keep a more polite distance from the guests than in your house.
Unfortunately, two of your employees have come close to me to this day. Both employees kindly held the door open for me. Once with a mask under the nose and once completely without a mask. A reasonable distance was not maintained. So a very uncomfortable feeling.
I hope that in the near future you will break away from the minimal hygiene standards and offer a safe environment for your guests.
Furthermore, I hope that you, your staff and, above all, your guests stay healthy and that you will survive this difficult time without much damage.

Sincerely yours

A disappointed guest

Further comments on the topic of Room:

According to the company, it was about 18 years ago that it was renovated. Unfortunately, this can also be seen in the rooms. Cracks on the outside walls, leaking taps and worn carpeting are examples here. I don't want to be rude or presumptuous at this point, but this is a five-star hotel and advertises services that are not fully met.

Update end -

Yes, the name looks a lot, the location is great, but extremely disappointed with the hygiene measures.
It starts with the doors not opening automatically. First contact at the entrance, which is superfluous.
The staff wears neither mouth-nose protection at the reception (yes, they stand behind a small plastic pane for a short time, but not the rest) nor gloves. I thankfully refused the ballpoint pen. Yes, there are large rooms, but to protect guests, a mask requirement would be appropriate as in other hotels, as you inevitably get closer to the other guests.

The execution is very disappointing for the fact that hygiene is pointed out to such an extent on the own side and that was also the reason for the booking.
And when you refer to the hygiene concept of the state of Saxony, I simply expect more than the minimum from a Kempinski.

Either you adapt the information on the Internet that you don't want to protect the guests 100% or you just make a little more effort. It is incomprehensible that a "gas station" attaches more importance to wearing the mask than a five star hotel. Politics or not.
