Please be careful attending any events at the Skokie Park District - they will only cover themselves, not individuals injured on their property. My mother was injured as a spectator at the Skokie Skatium for their Halloween costume contest. She suffered a laceration to her head when a skater running off the rink pushed into her, knocking her into the steel doors leading from the rink to the lobby. Cameras to that area of the rink were turned off supposedly. She has since received a bill for $800 which the Skatiums insurance company refuses to pay. After being lifelong residents of Skokie, taking years of skating classes at the Skatium since I was little, having my daughter attend classes there and partaking in holiday events such as their costume contest year after year, this is more than disheartening. Please, be careful participating in ANY class or event at this facility - they have no true concern for the individuals walking into their business - PLEASE beware of this, you are entering at your own risk.
