Marie Gallagher Review of Wynyard Hall

We were blessed with good sunny weather to explore the beautiful grounds.. a pleasure to walk around and so much to see.
Quite costly tho, to purchase items and gifts.
Cafe and restaurant.
I personally ate in the garden cafe with my group of friends and could not fault it. Scones, cakes, good choice, included dairy and gluton free. We had hot drinks on arrival, i had hot chocolate as no latte coffee. Staff quite helpful and pleasant.
We headed back there too, to have our lunch, lasagne and garlic bread really tasty but garlic bread hard. Then i had a christmas mince pie and tea, cost 11.00 good price i felt.
I had another hot choclate later before leaving. Total i spent was 15.00 on my refreshments all day. Afternoon tea for 2, was advertised at 9.00. In the garden cafe. Some others had afternoon tea in the main restaurent in the hall and were deeply disappointed and unable to eat most of it, although they did say the scones were good. Cost of that was 24.50 per head. Sadly they complained.. there were other places offering snacks but i cant comment but did see people tucking into food in the christmas teepees. Overall a supurb day out...
