Staff is wonderful. Facility is all new and well-planned, at least most of it. The food/dining experience is exemplary. My husband came back from the beach looking forward to a nice hot bath with the salts the resort provided. He took a brief outdoor shower to remove the sand and then proceeded to fill the tub. When partly filled, the water ran cold. I noticed that several buildings had tankless Rinnai water heaters, which should never run out of hot water. I called the front desk, who confirmed this and sent a maintenance person out. When he got here, he said that what is there, in fact, is a 30 gallon electric tank shared by our unit and the one next door. He said we d have to wait for the tank to heat back up to get any more hot water. So, no bath.
Yes, this is an exclusive resort. But for $3000 a night, shouldn t a person have enough water to take a hot bath? Is that really too much to ask? I think it isn t. It s unfortunate that something like this ends up overshadowing an otherwise good stay because someone was too cheap to install tankless water heaters in this block of suites. Hopefully, this will be corrected in the near future.
