Review of Elder-Beerman

Coming to the Dayton Mall breaks my heart anymore....

Coming to the Dayton Mall breaks my heart anymore. I've been going to the mall for about as long as I can remember. I've seen many stores come and go, but realized that this was just the nature of things. It still seemed so lively...until now. I realize that this is a digital age nowadays, but the loss of huge anchor stores such as Sears and Elder Beerman sucked the life out of this place.

There used to be such a large variety of stores that it was almost overwhelming. You practically couldn't ever run out of things to do. Even the middle of the stores had something to look at. But nowadays, all the big stores have left and you only have a few of the legacy stores left. Tons of generic and, frankly, unexciting and unfriendly stores practically litter the mall now. You now have two massive and noticable husks of Dayton Mall stables lying around, and for the most part, the energy is practically all gone. I went to a small hobby shop to get a game and the cashier was just blasting music and barely even looked at me even as I was paying.

The Dayton Mall is far from dead, but it isn't the brimming-with-energy-and-smiles like it used to be. I only ever come here for GameStop, and even then... There's one outside the store as well. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon.
