We went through this company to purchase solar panels about 3 years ago and used Ygrene, and they ruined our grey roofing shingles and tried to replace them with red ones and spraypainted over them. Our roof looks like a patchwork quilt which will be a very costly fix thanks to their unwillingness and inability to remedy the situation. This upped our property value and property taxes, and we are nowhere close to breaking even on our electric bill to solar panel investment. Our yearly electric costs are still around 1k to 1,300k with a supposed 96% coverage. Huge disappointment all around. We are currently forced to also buy the panels outright only 3 years into our payments (you know... after we paid the bulk of interest)so as not to be stuck with this lien and stuck with higher refi closing costs. I would NOT invest in solar panels if I could do it over again one big headache, they ruined our roof, and we tell everyone we talk to to avoid solar anything until these places can get their act together and are more straightforward.
