The building itself is beautiful to look at, neat and clean, well organised, 7 storied, reception and lift facility available. It is the headquarter of West Bengal Power Development Corporation which operates five thermal power plants namely Bandel, santaldih,bakreshwar,sagardighi and Kolaghat. Recently, DPL has been taken over by WBPDCL.
It is a corporate office.
