Don't waste your time if you have a problem that cannot be immediately physically examined. I had high hopes when I went for my first visit because I spoke with a nurse-practitioner who had worked in premier health for years. She was attentive and actually wanted to know if I had any problems. I set up an appointment with a doctor and had labs done ahead of time. I went in to see the doctor today. I have had issues since I was still active-duty last February. I told the nurse-practitioner about them and she seemed very helpful. When I spoke with the doctor today, he was not. He did not see anything physically wrong with me and so assumed there wasn't and had already made up his mind before I said anything. He opened a "problems" tab on his computer under my name and there was nothing listed so he said, "no problems, good!" as if that was cased closed. The thing is, no one at the VA had ever asked me if I had any problems and unless the VA has computers that can supposedly read minds, I don't see how that computer knew if I had any problems. I don't recall ever talking to that computer about my problems. Anyway, I did get around to telling him some of my symptoms which he quickly brushed off without suggesting anything helpful. He even asked if I had drank water and was hydrated. I have seen four doctors in the past year about these issues. Do you really think that hydration is the issue? Really? Is that where we're at? Trying to explain anything to him was like talking to a brick wall so I decided to stop trying. At the end, he cheerfully told me I was perfectly healthy and ushered me out. He has no idea.
