I just called to get a pay off on my loan and was told there would be a charge to pay off my loan. When I questioned the service rep about it, he stated it s a state mandated fee . When I challenged him on that statement he said well in most states it is . Then when talking to a supervisor I stated that I was told there was no penalty for early payoffs. The supervisor stated you re correct but to pay off your loan early you need a pay off statement and for that there is a fee. When people want to play semantics with my money, I find that to be shady business practices.
