I have been with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama For years (2012)
My premium started then $170.00 (2021 is $645.00)
I tried to add the wife in the enrollment time only to find out that she was not added. Blue Cross stated that the mistake was on their end that the issue would be resolved and my wife would be added to the policy. The policy would be backdated to reflect the correct enrollment time. A week later after talking to several different agents and "supervisors" the issue is still not resolved. I was to be contacted and updated at the beginning of the following week of the issue by agent Daryl Martin whom was working closely with his supervisor, Michelle. I contacted Blue Cross on Tuesday after no follow ups were made. Only to my disappointment to hear that the issue is still not resolved and no updates to report. So, my wife is still without insurance coverage after I followed all the guidelines mandated by open enrollment. As of today a week later after discussing the matter with Blue Cross another agent by the name of Tom (ext. 51492) stated that no movement has progressed beyond last week. I find this very frustrating and after the years of customer loyalty consider this to be an insult. I would state buyer beware on purchasing any policies from Blue Cross. Premiums continually rise while customer service continues to decline!! At this point I am hoping Blue Cross will take the necessary steps to keep my business and make the issue correct.
