It's a day-out you need to do once in a lifetime and the experience of actually being there is definitely worthwhile.

While the price for entry is quite high you do get a lot included with no extra fees once you get in - and you get a decent discount for buying tickets in advance. I guess the price is comparable with other London visitor attractions.

However, you will want to think about taking your own food as prices in the cafe were extraordinary, particularly if you are going as a family.

The queue for the crown jewels was long but it moved quickly and there was plenty to see on the way round, to the extent that when you actually get to the jewels themselves it is a bit underwhelming - partly this may be because I have had a picture in my mind of jewels in a tower which is not the case, but partly also I think because you don't actually get to see the crown jewels for that long compared to how long it takes to get to them.

Overall, a good family visit for us with three children (6, 9 & 11 years old) and one adult. I definitely recommend it.
