I've never been much for history, but FDR is a person worth learning about. With the wise and compassionate counsel of his wife, Eleanor Roosevelt, he led the United States through the worst economic downturn of industrialized history (the Great Depression), and most of the war that consumed over 50 million lives (WW II). During several hours in the FDR presidential library and museum, I learned a little about his life and efforts in the face of such darkness, and hopefully, came away a little wiser for it.
